Light Line of Louisiana, LLC
Rickie Bordelon has fond memories of riding around with his grandfather in an old fourwheel drive Scout. The Scout meant so much to him that Bordelon kept track of its whereabouts after his grandfather sold it, and later bought it back for himself. Eventually,he opened a part-time mail-order business, Light Line of Louisiana, LLC, to supply parts for Scouts and other four-wheel drive vehicles. Light Line quickly grew into a full-time venture and now carries, installs, and services a full line of parts and accessories for four-wheel drive vehicles from its 5,000-square foot Baton Rouge location. A comprehensive ecommerce website allows Light Line to sell and ship products to customers nationwide.
“We’re small enough to listen and large enough to take care of all your 4x4 and truck accessory needs,” says Bordelon. “We sell and install anything from winches to tires, suspension lifts to Tuffy security consoles…and we even do full vehicle restorations from the ground up.”
Light Line sponsors events across the country, including the annual off-road expo in Hammond, which raises money for charity. Recent events took Bordelon to Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, where he set up a booth to showcase Light
Line’s products and helped promote the events through fliers and other advertising.
When he’s not working, Bordelon can often be found with the local four-wheel drive club, of which he’s a charter member The club meets monthly and participates in trail rides on private properties. “We promote ‘tread lightly,’” emphasizes Bordelon. “It’s not about drinking beer and tearing up people’s property. It’s a very family-oriented atmosphere.”
Bordelon says that BRAC membership helps Light Line demonstrate its loyalty to the Baton Rouge area.
